EXTENDED FAMILY - CRESTED PIGEON

The Crested Pigeons have been with us since we first moved here and visit every day. They do not usually come to close, but stay in the nearby trees and by the side of the house with the Turkeys.

 

When we first spotted them, we called them emporers because there crest looked like a crown. But our trusty bird book clarified that they were crested pigeons.

 

Again, we cannot really tell them apart like our other birds. However we love the look of these birds and the little irredescent coloured sections on their wings.
