At JUSTSIAMESE.COM we are the proud parents to three beautiful cats Joe Daniel (A Black Seal Point Siamese), Marie Henrietta (A Chocolate Point Siamese) and Angel Hope (A Russian Blue). Through JUSTSIAMESE.COM we would like to share how life changing the experience of Cat Parenting (we are not fans of the term cat ownership) has been for us, and we believe, can be for you too. We believe that Cat Parenting is essentially Pet Therapy to those who embrace it... Where Pet Therapy could be defined as Cat Parents receiving Health & Wellbeing benefits from interacting with their cat, or cats.
Pet Therapy entered Dad’s life when two siamese cats (Joe Daniel and Marie Henrietta) were prescribed to him (a Workaholic) by his Doctor. This was at a time when much to his surprise after 30 years of working 24/7, Dad experienced burnout. When making this prescription, the doctor explained the health and wellbeing benefits that owning two cats could bring (what we call the Cat Connection). Whilst Dad had never had anything to do with cats in his life, he thankfully followed doctors’ orders and brought Siamese kittens which he named Joe Daniel and Marie Henrietta into his life.
Soon after this, Angel Hope unexpectedly joined this new family, co-incidentally on the very same day Dad ended his life as a Corporate Business Machine. In the process of making his last business deal, Dad encountered Angel Hope. He heard her meowing and followed this sound, only to find a tiny scared kitten stuck behind a corner cupboard in the business premises. He found it impossible to leave without rescuing her, and even though she was a scaredy cat, she let him save her; and another Cat Therapist entered his life.
Since coming together, Dad, Joe Daniel, Marie Henrietta and Angel Hope have experienced a couple of different lives together. At JUSTSIAMESE.COM we share with you one of these lives, what we like to call ‘The Vineyard Experience’.
The Vineyard Experience came about because Dad and the cats decided to find somewhere new to live where Dad could mentally and physically rest and regroup in a natural and uncomplicated environment. They ended up finding their solitude on a piece of vacant bushland situated on the grounds of a world renowned vineyard.
They lived simply in a caravan under the stars. Whilst there, Dad decided to get his hands dirty and pick some grapes( just because he could). Picking grapes was as far a cry from his previous life as could be, however Dad found it to be the most enjoyable work he had ever completed.
As their caravan did not have power, Dad and the cats rose and went down with the sun, and their lives found a natural and healing rhythm which included them roaming free on walks through the beautiful Vineyard country. These walks soon became a daily ritual and Dad documented this in pictures.
Not long after the Vineyard Experience, Dad, Joe Daniel, Marie Henrietta and Angel Hope met Mum, whom they lovingly embraced into their family. This newly formed family then brought Jack Jack (A white Rex Rabbit) into the family and he, of course, has also been lovingly embraced by all. Then within the space of a year of meeting, Dad married Mum in a beautiful ceremony reflecting their love, contentment and happiness.
Since joining the family, Mum has been and continues to be fortunate enough to experience the Cat Connection. It has without doubt, enhanced her health and wellbeing.
We believe the many beautiful images at JUSTSIAMESE.COM allow you to see, taste, smell and feel the Cat Connection that Dad and the cats embraced during their Vineyard Experience. It was felt by Dad with each click of the camera on his broken iphone as he captured them being spontaneous, happy and free in a gloriously beautiful natural surrounding. Where as you will see in our extended family profiles we have made friends with many wild animals who live around us.
Even if your only interaction with a cat is viewing and experiencing the beauty of the images of Joe Daniel, Angel Hope and Marie Henrietta, we hope this provides you with a sense of what the Cat Connection can bring you in your life as a Cat Parent.
At JUSTSIAMESE.COM the affection, health and wellbeing benefits we receive from our Cat Connections are immeasurable, and it has brought about many changes in our lives, including the birth of JUSTSIAMESE.COMas we decided to change our careers, and this also has the added benefit of us being able to spend more time together as a loving and proud family.
JUSTSIAMESE.COM has the ‘just’ in the title to emphasis how siamese cats are loving, loyal and dedicated animals, including honorary Siamese cats like Angel Hope, and Jack Jack (we warned you our website has a ‘With A Twist’ theme). The ‘just’ is also a representative of how one positive thing in your life is all it takes to bring benefits to your life, and that sometimes we overlook this ‘just’ thing, much of the time to our detriment.
