We cannot wait til the sun goes down and the possums wake up and come visit us. We occasionally feed them fruit scraps and they share it all round the family. The possums live in the trees around our house and run along the balcony rail and the roof and the balcony entertaining us.

 

When we first met the possums, some of the mums had babies which we have been lucky enough to see on their backs and go in and out of their mothers pouch, it is a fantastic sight and we sometimes sit in awe at their antics.

 

Joe Daniel, Angel Hope and Marie Henrietta, also love to watch the possums at night and there are a variety of viewing decks they watch them from, including from the kitchen window, through the screen door to the balcony ,and through the front screen door. We call our possums, Mum, Dad and Babies as we can generally tell which ones are the little ones still growing and the Mums, and the larger Dads (well that’s what we like to think anyhow!).
