Organ =

Heart Specialised Task is to pump blood around the cats’ body through a distribution system of blood vessels (e.g. arteries, veins, capillaries etc).

Body System =

Cardiovascular System: This system is made up of the Heart and Blood Vessels. The Blood Vessels carry blood

  • To the Heart from Cells (Veins)

  • From the Heart to Cells  (Arteries)

The Certain Activity of the Cardiovascular System is to circulate and deliver:

  • Nutrient and oxygen rich blood to cells/organs around the body so the nutrients and oxygen can be extracted by the cells/organs and used as energy which is needed for daily functioning

  • Deliver the then nutrient and oxygen poor blood to specific cells/organs whose task it is to put the nutrients and oxygen back into the blood and so on.
