Why?

The aim of this CATMAP is to provide Cat Parents with an understanding of some cat Organs and Body Systems which complete the specific tasks and activitiesrequired to sustain a cats' life (i.e. breathing digestion of food and removal of waste etc). Having this knowledge can be useful for Cat Parents to assist in understanding how certain diseases / conditions may impact on their cat because one day their cat may develop a disease / condition in one these organs / body systems.

 

What is an Organ?

An Organ is a group of tissue that is a defined structure and in itself has a Specialized Task. In the below CATMAP, some of a cats organs are listed, click on the links for a definition of that organ and its Specialised Task. 

 

What is a Body System?

A body system is a group of organs which work together completing their specialized task to complete a certain activity. On the Organ definition pages, the body systems the organs belong to are listed and the Certain Activity of the Body System is described.
